Privacy Policy

Black River Design Build, Inc., doing business as JJB Home Improvements and JJB Home (“JJB Home,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through jjbhome.com (the “Site”) and in the course of providing our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or providing us with your information, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms and Conditions.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide to us. When you request a quote, schedule a consultation, sign up for an offer, apply for a job, or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, mailing address, phone number (including mobile number), details about your home and project, and any other information you choose to share.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring URLs, and similar data through cookies, pixels, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Communications. If you communicate with us by phone, text message, or email, we may keep records of those communications, including call recordings where permitted by law.
Comments. When visitors leave comments on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it; the Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media. If you upload images to the Site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the Site can download and extract any location data from images on the Site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide quotes, estimates, and consultations;
- Schedule, perform, and manage remodeling and construction projects;
- Send appointment reminders, project updates, and account or service notifications;
- Send marketing and promotional communications where you have consented to receive them;
- Process financing referrals you request;
- Operate, improve, and secure the Site and our services;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
3. SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from JJB Home, we will use your mobile number to send you SMS messages related to your inquiry, appointments, estimates, and project, and, if you have separately consented, promotional offers. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

No third-party marketing. Your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in status, and text messaging consent will not be shared with, sold to, or rented to any third party or affiliate for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We share this information only with service providers who help us send messages on our behalf (such as our telecommunications and CRM providers), and they are permitted to use it solely to deliver those services to us.

4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with:
- Service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, CRM and scheduling software, telecommunications and messaging providers, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics. These providers may use your information only to provide services to us.
- Subcontractors and trade partners engaged to perform work on your project, to the extent needed to complete the work.
- Financing partners, only when you ask us to connect you with a financing option.
- Legal and safety recipients, when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of JJB Home, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
As stated in Section 3, mobile numbers and SMS consent are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, measure Site traffic, and support advertising. We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and may use advertising pixels from platforms such as Google and Meta to show you relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site features.
Comment and login cookies. If you leave a comment on the Site you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies; this cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites. Articles on the Site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to maintain records of projects and warranties, and to comply with legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. Records related to completed projects may be retained for the duration of any applicable warranty and statute of limitations.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on the Site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Text messages: Reply STOP to any message to opt out.
- Marketing emails: Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact us.
- Phone calls: Ask us to add you to our internal do-not-call list.
- Access, correction, or deletion: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. If you have an account on the Site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us, and you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. 9. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Third-Party Websites
The Site may link to third-party websites, including financing partners, review platforms, and social media. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
