The homeowners wanted to fully remodel their kitchen to improve functionality, increase storage, and better connect the space to the surrounding living areas. The existing kitchen felt closed off and dated, with limited cabinetry, inefficient layout, and outdated mechanical systems.
Their goals included updated cabinetry, new countertops, improved lighting, refinished flooring, and better ventilation—while maintaining the character of their Racine home.
JJB Home Improvements delivered a comprehensive kitchen remodel that reworked the layout, modernized systems, and significantly improved everyday usability. The project included the removal of existing cabinetry, soffits, countertops, and select walls to create a more open and functional kitchen layout.
New custom cabinetry was installed throughout the space, including additional storage, upgraded drawer banks, light rail details, and double crown molding for a refined finish. A solid stone countertop with a waterfall edge anchors the island and provides ample prep and gathering space.
Mechanical systems were upgraded to support the new layout, including plumbing relocations, new sink and fixture installations, upgraded electrical with under-cabinet lighting, and an improved exhaust and make-up air system for proper ventilation. Existing wood flooring was carefully woven in where needed and refinished to create a seamless transition throughout the kitchen and adjacent spaces.
The result is a bright, functional kitchen designed to support daily living, entertaining, and long-term enjoyment.

The project began with design development and planning, followed by demolition, mechanical updates, cabinetry installation, countertop fabrication, flooring refinishing, and final finish work. Change orders were incorporated seamlessly to accommodate additional cabinetry and flooring discoveries uncovered during construction.
