Our Testimonials

Job One: I thought I needed a new outer door but Jeff (the owner) suggested refurbishing the existing one which was more cost-effective. It hasn't looked this good since moving in! Job Two: I couldn't afford a whole new kitchen so Kelah, Austin, and Joe worked their magic by taking the cabinet doors off and with new hardware and a couple coats of paint on the cabinets, ceiling and walls, I now have a really cheerful "new" kitchen. The crew was great to work with and even accommodated my small extra requests of putting new light switches in and helped me create a new hanging wall coat rack. JJB Home Improvements is fortunate to have a knowledgeable and friendly crew. Keeping them altogether is Tom, their office manager and juggler of all things scheduling and billing-wise. I had to change my start date a couple times and he handled that--and all communications with incredible promptness, professionalism and courtesy. Clearly JJB--in my opinion--has a really great team!

Joe, Jeff, and their crew were great--professional, friendly, and excellent at their jobs. We received clear and timely communication from them throughout the job, and even after when we had follow-up questions. They took the time to make sure we had all of our questions answered at every part of the process. They repaired damaged spots on our stucco exterior and then sprayed on a coat of new stucco. They also re-pointed a deteriorating chimney and installed new chimney caps on both chimneys. The house looks fantastic! We've received compliments from many of our neighbors on how nice the house looks now. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

JJB Home Improvements (Jeff, Joe and crew) did an outstanding job on our chimney repair. We had a small water leak in our interior attic. JJB responded quickly and professionally by setting up scaffolding for our 112 year old home. 3 stories high! No problem for JJB. They repaired the old brick, caulked, applied a skim stucco coat, then a finish stucco coat, then painted to match with elastomeric paint. We even replaced the 3 chimney caps with more decorative and functional caps. JJB was extremely professional, on time, and communicated every step of the way. I have already recommended them to neighbors and friends. So nice to have a contractor like JJB!

Three letters signal how it went: C C and H Competent in many different parts of home improvement and repair. Careful in all their work. It is not rushed, it is done meticulously. Honest. They will never tell you you need something done just so they can get work. If anything needs to be done, they show you pictures of it and explain it in detail, and then they give detailed items in billing.

Jeff and Ann are great to work with. Down to earth, responsive, fair. Asked for an estimate on each job, received each promptly. Work was completed within 5 days of estimate receipt for each job. Quality of kitchen work was very good. We will be using them in the future for our handyman, painting, etc. Great folks to do business with.

I sold my house and per, the contract, needed to do some minor carpentry work and some fairly extensive masonry work before the sale could close. Jeff and his crew were able to complete the job within a very tight time frame to the satisfaction of the building inspector, myself and the buyers. I don't know what I would have done without Jeff and his crew. Over the 7 years they did work for me, (new roof, new garage, cement work, taking out trees, fixed an ice dam, re-stuccoed an inside wall, etc.) they were always upfront, honest, on-time, within budget and very easy to deal with. I will miss working with Jeff, Ann and the rest of the crew (when I move out of State). They deserve A+'s in my book in every category. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Jeff!!

The roof looks great. Jeff and the guys were extremely professional and friendly. In addition to doing an excellent job, there were several 'extras' thrown in that we appreciated very much. They showed us shingle samples before getting started, and gave good advice about color and style. They told us about a rebate opportunity that could save us a few thousand dollars - there was no way we would have discovered this on our own. Also, they were extremely careful about cleaning up, sweeping several times and running a large magnet over our yard and driveway to ensure they picked up all the old nails. We'll definitely call these guys again for other jobs.

Russ and I want to thank you and your crew for doing an excellent job on our home. The roof looks wonderful and I am certain it will be an asset when we do sell it. The work was done in an orderly fashion and the foundation plantings were carefully protected by you. We certainly appreciated the clean-up that was completed each day. No unsightly mess or nails in the driveway to worry about. When the porch reconstruction was completed it now looks better than it ever did. Neighbors have come over to say what a good job has been done. You and your crew can be proud of your workmanship... we are!

JJB replaced the roof, redid chimney, and on inside replaced rotted studs and supports in walls, drywalling, and baseboard repair. Did exterior painting and replacement of rotted wood on house and garage. JJB was extremely professional and produced work of high quality. The repairs were complicated and required the consultation of a structural engineer. Jeff Bartelt closely supervised the work, explained what was being done and why, maintained excellent documentation, and had highly skilled and polite workers. His staff performed the work well, were always on time, and were not intrusive to the household, maintaining a clean and efficient work site. I have had other experiences with home repair companies, some of whom have hired workers who lacked other than basic skills. This is not true of the staff of JJB. They are highly skilled. I would highly recommend this company.

It pays to have an experienced crew especially with this job. Originally this job started as outdoor stucco repair but turned into a much bigger job when most of wood behind the stucco was found to be rotten. Jeff and his crew explained what needed to be done and carried out the job very well. The crew was professional and made the room look new. They cleaned up and stayed in good communication throughout the entire job. I can't say enough. I would and will hire them again.

JJB is a fantastic company. The team is talented, professional, and accommodating. They show up when they are supposed to show up, and they finish on time! It is a pleasure to work with a company that is so communicative, and we very much look forward to working with them in the future.

I had a couple of shingles come loose during a wind storm. I thought about crawling up there myself but we have a tall house and I didn't see myself safely making the move from the ladder to the roof and back again. I found JJB on Angie's list and gave them a call. They said it would cost $250 which I thought was expensive for a couple of shingles. I hesitated and started to rethink going up there myself. She explained that they would have to load the ladders on the truck, drive here, do the job, drive back and unload. For that amount of labor, $250 wasn't really that much. Fair enough, I said O.K. I don't remember making an appointment, Jeff just showed up on a Saturday when I was up on the ladder installing gable vents. What a great guy. He was friendly, energetic and helpful. I explained to him why I didn't want to climb up on the roof and he gave me some tips on ladder safety. He asked me what I was working on and gave me some tips on installing the vents. He repaired the loose shingles, inspected the roof and found some cracks to seal. And as long as he was up there, he cleaned the gutters. From end to end it was an great experience well worth the $250. It's a good feeling knowing a contractor I can trust.
